'Burton' is a cultivar of hican (nut or tree), a cross between hickory and pecan, species of the genus Carya. The nut is one of the better-tasting hicans; it is round and thin in shape. A seedling from 'Burton' called 'Dooley' is also productive.[1] Hickory-pecan hybrids are often unproductive.
